This collaboration between UiTM and the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance.To date the Research Centre has undertaken various researches related to corporate governance as well as hosting three international conferences. Some of the centre's latest achievements include a collaborative work with MICG, Rating Agency Malaysia (RAM) and Biz Aid Technologies Sdn Bhd in developing a Corporate Governance Reporting Framework for Malaysia. (the project had recently won a gold medal at the IPTA R&D 2005 Exhibition and a bronze medal at the R&D Exhibition in Geneva 2006); the development of a Corporate Governance Screen Card with the Minority Shareholders Watchdog Group (MSWG) ; an IRPA Research grant from MOSTI for its corporate governance rating project and the award of Governance fellowship grant from the Prime Minister's Perdana Exchange Fellowship Foundation worth RM1 million.

HISTORY
UiTM-MICG Corporate Governance Research Centre (CGRC) at the Faculty of Accountancy, is one of the centres of excellence at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). The Corporate Governance Research Centre (CGRC) was launched on 9 February 2002 with signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG) and UiTM. The Centre was established with the purpose of stimulating research and consultancy in the area of Corporate Governance among academicians and practioners. In doing so, the Centre can offer expertise so as to produce high quality research output. In fact, the smart-partnership has provided avenues for some research findings to be published in refereed journals while others presented at national and international conferences. In achieving this objective, it is hoped that the Centre is able to enhance and inculcate a reserach culture on Corporate Governance for all the parties concern.

In addition, the CGRC has also initiated a collaborative research entitled "Malaysian Corporate Governance Reporting Scores" with the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG), Rating Agency Malaysia (RAM) and Biz Aid Sdn Bhd (an IT Solution company). A memorandum of understanding was signed on 9 September 2003 at Mutiara Hotel Kuala Lumpur, by Dato' Seri Vice Chancellor and the three respective parties.
Another significant milestone for the Research Centre when a research proposal titled " Development of Corporate Governance Rating in Malaysia " (by Assoc Prof Dr Rashidah Abdul Rahman, Prof Dr Normah Omar, Fadzlina Mohd Fahmi, Aida Maria Ismail and Mohd Hassan Che Haat) Under the Intensified Research of Prioritised Areas (IRPA) was obtained from the Ministry of Science and Environment (MOSTE) in 2004
